JOHN NOLAN PLAYING HOMAGE TO THE GREAT MASTERS
The subject of John Nolan’s work is colour. His paintings have been inspired y many artists including Van Gogh, Picasso, Andy Warhol, Matisse, Modigliani, Lichtenstein, the list is endless.
John has explored many themes over the years and also worked on a series of paintings playing homage to the great masters incorporating images and allusions from paintings of the great masters into his work. This series contrasts John’s motifs with many of the great icons of art history. He makes elegantly economical use of simple motifs which are translated in his own personal style.
