John Nolan was born in 1958 in Dublin, Ireland.
His exuberant modern paintings combine bold outlines with bright exotic colours and his interpretation of various themes : Landscapes, Trees, Flowers, Birds, Fishes and Still Life, transmits a positive upbeat feeling to his viewers.
Along side this exploration, John has been developing his unique style for many years, focusing on pure color and composition. Vibrancy and depth are achieved by never mixing white with his chosen colours. Each painting is built up from a single field of saturated colours, overlaid with more intense and pure colours. The visual impact is therefore at once both sumptuous and restrained.
