JOHN NOLAN was born in Dublin in 1958 and lives and works in Drumcondra.
Over the past 40 years John has established himself as an international artist having been exhibited in many countries as well as in the U.S.A.
His work is in many public and private collections throughout the world.
In 2003, he won the distinguished honour of representing Ireland at the Biennale Internazionale Dell 'Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy.
His exuberant modern paintings combine bold outlines with bright exotic colors and his interpretation of various themes : Landscapes, Trees, Flowers, Birds, Fishes, Still Life, transmits a positive upbeat to his viewers. John has developed his unique style for many years, focusing on pure vibrant colors. Each painting is built up from a single field of saturated color overlaid with more intense and pure colors. The visual impact is therefore at once both sumptuous and restrained.
John being inspired by many artists, has also created a series of Homages to the Greatest Masters, in his own and stylised interpretation.
